just lucky, again

Legend has it that the town of Spiceland was named after the abundant spice bushes that grew in the area.  And, with spice bushes (also known as wild allspice), come yellow jackets & bees.  Add to the mix Quakers, who settled the area in the 1820's and established the Friends Academy and you've got all the makings of the Spiceland High School Yellow Jackets (& later Stingers). Then, if you're lucky enough to have a community with enough sense to preserve its old gym after consolidation & if you're lucky enough to arrive at that gym on a day when the maintenance crew is cleaning up, you must be lucky enough to have arrived in the land of blue skies and spices.  CGS.
