upstate, whiting
Think baseball - where second base is the farthest point from the plate & once you reach it, you're headed back home. That's what it's like to go to Whiting - nestled in the northwest corner, 3 miles from the Illinois border. In June it's hard to imagine what it's like during basketball season when the home of the Oilers is buffeted by the winds of Lake Michigan but on this day we were treated to sunshine, a beautiful old fieldhouse of a gym and practice for next year's teams. CGS.
