Sectional 20, Oxford, IN. After another great season, the Lady Bison's championship dreams came to an end on their home court while Northwestern moves into the next round for the first time since 2008. A subtle shift in the balance of power. CGS.

tell city memories
We found this story in a 1937 edition of the Tell City High School newspaper The Marksman and after our recent trip to the great old gym felt is was worth sharing...

"At 6:30 p.m. Thursday, a parade of high school
students, led by the band, started from the William Tell Hotel on the annual
snake dance and pep session. With lots of noise and laughter, they paraded down
Main Street to Schultz’s grocery, down to Seventh and Jefferson streets, where
the bonfire was lighted, and the band played the school song. Pep talks were given by Coach Ray Eddy and
Principal Dixon. Students then sang the school song followed by the high school
yell. The session was thus concluded and
the people left carrying with them the “true Marksmen spirit” – that of backing
the team in victory or defeat."
Coach Eddy would lead the Marksmen to three Sectional championships before heading up river to Madison and a state basketball crown. His next stop would be Purdue. Tell City would find success in 28 more Sectionals and eventually a Semi-State championship in 1961. And this year's squad would like nothing more than to avenge their early exit in last year's tournament and add another trophy to the case. CGS.
