a night in the valley
Nestled in the northeast corner of Henry County, along the banks of Deer Creek, is a small school basketball powerhouse - the Shenandoah Raiders. State Championship banners (2003 & 2005 Lady Raiders) hang from the walls and the boy's team, under the guidance of Coach Dave McCollough, is rolling along at 12-0. On Saturday night we were treated to a varsity double header, an enthusiastic pep band and a near full house. And, long after the Raiders moved past Monroe Central, the next generation of Shenandoah roundball remained on the court, getting ready. CGS.
