tech time
It was only a matter of time before we made it to the big city & only fitting that our first stop would be the granddaddy of Indianapolis gyms - Arsenal Tech. Built in 1928 on the grounds of the historic Civil War army arsenal (1865), Reuben Behlmer Memorial seats 3500 and even though the home team (& defending 4A State Champs) was knocked out of the Indianapolis City Tourney early, the place was rockin'. Taking the floor for the coveted championship were two 2A teams, T.C. Howe and Scecina Memorial, and in a game full of momentum shifts the matchup lived up to all that one hopes for from a historic high school tourney. In the end Howe triumphed 75-72 and moved their way up in state rankings to #2. But for us, our #1 trip to the big city, was just the beginning. CGS.
